FAPS-DEV is a non-profit, non-political, non-governmental organization that has been created out of the conviction that poverty and unemployment can be eradicated, if people are taught how to be self-reliant to earn a living, rather than to be dependent, ( it’s better to teach people how to fish than give them fish). A group of young individuals therefore came together to transform brain storm on ways of pooling their resources, skills, expertise, and networks to enable sustainable development and well-being in their personal lives as well as in the communities, especially at the grassroots. This initiative was eventually given legal recognition via prefectorial decision No. 162/G.37/014/VOL/SAAP of 28th March 2017.
The head office of the organization is in Buea, Southwest Region of Cameroon.
The mission of the organization is to carry out programs that are aimed at improving the livelihood of the less privileged especially the youths, women, and children through economic empowerment beyond capacity building.
To reduce poverty within communities in Cameroon and Africa, through the promotion of social and economic activities.
